Antonopoulos, penulis dari &#8220;Mastering Bitcoin&#8221;, mendeskripsikan Ethereum sebagai &#8220;platform smart contract yang bisa diprogram&#8221;. Menurut Antonopoulos, keunikan Ethereum terletak pada kemampuannya untuk mengotomatisasi proses-proses melalui smart contract, dan mendemokratisasikan pembuatan aplikasi berbasis blockchain.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pengertian_Ethereum\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Pengertian Ethereum<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum, yang berdiri di atas paradigma teknologi blockchain, adalah platform open-source yang dibuat oleh Vitalik Buterin dan timnya pada tahun 2015. Tidak seperti Bitcoin yang fokus pada fungsi sebagai mata uang digital, Ethereum memiliki fungsi yang lebih luas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum menghadirkan kemampuan untuk membuat dan menjalankan smart contract. Kontrak ini adalah program komputer yang otomatis menjalankan syarat dan ketentuan kontrak ketika kondisi tertentu dipenuhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smart contract ini memungkinkan pembangunan aplikasi terdesentralisasi (dApps) di atas platform Ethereum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unit mata uang dari Ethereum adalah Ether (ETH), yang juga digunakan untuk memfasilitasi operasi di dalam jaringan Ethereum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selain itu, Ethereum juga memfasilitasi penciptaan token-token baru menggunakan standar ERC-20 dan ERC-721, yang telah melahirkan ratusan token dan proyek blockchain baru.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bagaimana_Cara_Kerja_Ethereum\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Bagaimana Cara Kerja Ethereum?<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum beroperasi melalui sistem blockchain, tetapi dengan beberapa penambahan dan penyesuaian yang membuatnya unik. Dalam jaringan Ethereum, setiap transaksi atau eksekusi smart contract diproses oleh jaringan komputer yang disebut &#8220;nodes&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Setiap node ini menjalankan versi dari blockchain Ethereum dan berpartisipasi dalam pengolahan transaksi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salah satu aspek yang membuat Ethereum spesial adalah smart contract. Sebuah smart contract adalah program komputer yang otomatis akan menjalankan syarat dan ketentuan kontrak ketika kondisi tertentu terpenuhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smart contract dibuat menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Solidity dan dijalankan dalam EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selain itu, Ethereum menggunakan mekanisme konsensus yang dikenal sebagai Proof-of-Stake (PoS) dalam versi Ethereum 2.0. Fungsi utama Bitcoin adalah sebagai mata uang digital yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk mengirim dan menerima uang secara elektronik, tanpa perlu melalui lembaga keuangan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Di sisi lain, Ethereum adalah platform blockchain yang dirancang untuk memfasilitasi dan memverifikasi smart contract. Sebagai tambahan, Ethereum juga memungkinkan para pengembang untuk membangun dan menjalankan aplikasi terdesentralisasi (dApps).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dari segi teknis, Ethereum dan Bitcoin juga memiliki beberapa perbedaan penting. Ethereum menggunakan model konsensus Proof-of-Stake (PoS), sedangkan Bitcoin menggunakan model konsensus <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nanovest.io/blog\/kamus\/proof-of-work-pow-4070\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proof-of-Work (PoW)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Buterin, seorang programer dan penulis kontributor untuk Bitcoin Magazine, mencari cara untuk menambahkan fungsionalitas scripting ke Bitcoin. Namun, ia tidak mendapatkan dukungan yang cukup, jadi dia memutuskan untuk menciptakan platform baru.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum dirilis melalui <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nanovest.io/blog\/kamus\/ico-initial-coin-offering-3990\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">penjualan awal koin (ICO)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pada Juli 2014.
