Setelah lulus SMA, kondisi ekonomi keluarganya membuatnya harus bekerja sebelum melanjutkan pendidikan. Ia kemudian bekerja di bank dan mengambil kuliah di Universitas Nasional, jurusan Sastra Inggris.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pengalaman bekerja di bank justru menjadi salah satu titik penting dalam perjalanan investasinya. Saat bekerja sebagai staf tata usaha, Lo Kheng Hong banyak berhadapan dengan laporan keuangan. Dari situlah ketertarikannya terhadap dunia saham semakin berkembang.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ia mulai membeli saham pada 1989. Namun, investasi tersebut berakhir dengan kerugian karena harga saham turun dan ia menjualnya. Pada saat itu, menurut penjelasan Lo, laba usaha per saham UNTR mencapai sekitar Rp7.800. Ia melihat terdapat perbedaan yang sangat besar antara kinerja perusahaan dan harga sahamnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lo Kheng Hong kemudian memegang saham tersebut selama sekitar enam tahun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada 2004, ia menjual UNTR di sekitar Rp15.000 per saham.
